The Plymouth Inn, Okehampton in 2008.
Former coaching inn dating back to the 17th-century, situated near to the bridge over the West Okement River.
A RARE view of the old Plymouth Inn, in High Street, where the Postboy is now, taken probably before the turn
of the century.
The fascia board above the pub reads ‘Stabling Plymouth Inn Posting,’ and the licensee’s name, Richard
Northcott, is clearly legible over the main entrance.
The second door, at which two ladies are standing, has long been blocked in.
The original is from the collection of Mrs. R. J. Turner, Barton View, South Church Lane, Okehampton.
